Johanna Milewski

March 15, 1948 — January 3, 2020

Johanna Wilhemina Milewski March 15, 1948 to January 3, 2020 Johanna, "Jojo" passed peacefully the morning of January 3rd, 2019, surrounded by friends, family, and favorite nurses at her home in the Medilodge at the shores in Grand Haven, Michigan. Her body succumbed to complications of her condition, but her loving and kind spirit endured until her last day among us. Johanna was born on March 15th 1948 to her parents Henry and Martha Boterenbrood who preceded her in death. She was born in Elburg, a small Dutch fishing town in the Netherlands. She had a younger sister, Willa Chotiwat, who precedes her in death last year, and leaves behind her youngest brother, Hank Boterenbrood. Her parents, Martha and Henry Boterenbrood, brought their young family to the US when Johanna was a young girl. She never forgot her Dutch roots, and had a large collection of Dutch windmill collectibles, which always reminded her of the old country. She loved and collected many things including her windmill collection, porcelain dolls, Teddy bears, country decor and furniture and much much more. She loved her Pets, especially her beloved, Muffin; she had 2 Muffin dogs. Pomeranians always had a special place in her heart, as well as her love for her Kitty cats, which she spoiled and adored them all. She leaves behind 3 wonderful children, Dan Meaney Jr (Shaundee), Scott Meaney (Billie Jo), and Rebecca Meaney-Freeman. She loved her children so much and enjoyed them taking her camping, shopping, lunches, and to her favorite coast guard festival every summer. Johanna was a nurse at Shore haven nursing home, where she met and married the love of her life, Frank J Milewski. He adored her every day until his passing on January 5th 1995. She missed him daily and now rejoins him at the gates of Heaven where her faith lies with our Lord. Johannah leaves behind her 11 grandchildren, who were the Apple of her eye, Jordan Parkhurst, Danielle Meaney, Marissa Meaney-Kwasneski (Jake), Courtney Pierce (Riley), Brendon and Christopher Freeman, Blake Freeman, Andrew Meaney (Sara), Joshua and Nathan Meaney, and Bethany Meaney. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed watching their sporting events and camping with them. Johanna had 3 great grandchildren. Aubrey Letner, MacKenzie Meaney, and Owen Meaney... With 2 more on the way (Emmett Freeman and Ava Bell Meaney). Jojo was a caring nurse, and supportive friend, and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was funny, silly, and free spirited. She spoke her mind and was full of life and surprises. She loved her coffee! Her Pets! And her dolls! And the beaches of Grand Haven will forever miss her. We love you mom, Forever and Always, our dear Grandma JoJo.
