Joan De Young

Mrs. Joan Marie DeYoung, age 87, of Grandville, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids. The daughter of Henry J. & Pearl (Bradenhorst) Blacquiere, she was born on Nov. 4, 1921 in Grand Rapids. On Feb. 18, 1943 she married Matthew F. "Fred" DeYoung, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Henry Blacquiere. Her son, Fredrick G. "Rick" DeYoung survives. Honoring her wishes, a private family remembrance will be held and burial will take place at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Cemetery.
