Obituary

Jeryl Ann "Jerry" DeBoer, age 71, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, with her husband, whom she loved so deeply, by her side.

Jerry was born on June 11, 1955, in Greenville, Michigan, to Floyd and Eileen (Rigdon) Spohn. Jerry worked as a secretary for the former Electrolux Home Products for 15 years. Jerry found great joy in gardening, caring for her beautiful flowers, and, most of all, spending time with her beloved grandson.

On October 22, 1977, Jerry married the love of her life, David H. DeBoer, at St. Paul Church in Greenville. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with one son.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Eileen Spohn, and her two sisters, Kathleen Spohn and Joanne L. Thomas, and her Father In-law, Henry Peter DeBoer.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 48 years, Dave DeBoer of Greenville; her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Shannon DeBoer of Lowell; her cherished grandson, Adam DeBoer; her brother, Robert Spohn and Sue Fitte of Six Lakes; mother In-law, Pearl (Elouise) DeBoer of Hastings; sister In-law, Brenda and Mike Olger of Wayland; her niece, Megan (Thomas) Web and Jermar Web of Grand Rapids; nephews; Lee and Melissa Olger of Nacogdoches, Texas and Andy Olger, and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Jerry's kindness, quiet strength, and love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Jerry's life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Jerry's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
