Jerry Stearns

Jerry W. Stearns, age 69, of Sheridan, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at his home. The son of Wilbur Austin & Lois A. (Erridge) Stearns, he was born on April 7, 1944 in Grand Rapids. Jerry began working as a milk hauler for his father, then with H&H Beer Distributing, as well as a salesman with King's Ford, and retired from Zuelke's as a truck driver. A talented artist, Jerry enjoyed drawing and sketching and left many works that will be treasured by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Stearns; and a brother, Ronnie Stearns. Surviving are his father, Bill Stearns of Sheridan; seven children, Alan & Tammy Stearns of Lakeview, Sheri Stearns & Jeff Robison of Sheridan, Douglas Stearns & Kimberly Cantrell of Fenwick, Kevin Stearns & Michele Alexander of Fenwick, Michael & Tresia Stearns of Stanton, Brian Stearns & Julie Miller of Fenwick, and Jamie Stearns of Belding; three sisters, Judy & Gary Ross of Greenville, Bonnie & Ed Moffett of Fenwick, and Cheryl & Raymond Brecht of Lakeview; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Jerry's cousin, Gilbert Morris, will officiate and burial will follow at Evergreen Township Cemetery.
