Jennifer Lyn Jones, age 38, of Greenville, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her home following an acute case of pancreatitis. The daughter of Ronda Kay (Roddy) & Rodney Warren Jones, Sr., she was born on November 29, 1984 in Grand Rapids.
A lifelong resident of the Belding and Greenville communities, Jennifer was a 2002 honors graduate of Belding High School, where she participated in cross-country, track, drama, forensics, band, and was a member of the National Honor Society. For over 15 years she danced with Miss Sherry's for tap, jazz, and ballet... performing in many recitals and competitions. Following high school, she attended Grand Rapids Community College, and later finished her medical office administration degree from Montcalm Community, graduating in 2016 with honors and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
For several years, you could find her working with her Smyrna Bar "family"... cooking, washing dishes, waiting tables, or bartending...but her love was being "DJ Jenn". Her love of music was her passion. She touched so many people with her infectious smile, her caring nature and genuine love of people.
She loved the outdoors, lakeshore, sun rises and sun sets, lighthouses, freighters, and camping. Most of her camping experience came from Girl Scouts, where she was a lifetime member. Outdoor activities in any season would be enjoyed, beach combing, lighthouse cruises, freighter chasing, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and so much more. She was a member of many bowling and pool leagues. With her outgoing personality, kindness, and giving heart., those who knew her will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jeanette & Jim Hulliberger, and Ardeth Roddy; an honorary family member, Angela Tokarchick; and her black lab rottwilier, Samuel Adam, who was her world.
Surviving are her parents, Rodney W. "Rod" Jones, Sr. of Belding, and Ronda & Paul Sanders of Byron Center; her brother, Rodney W. Jones, Jr.; sisters, Christina Jones, and Tracy Jones & Harlow Hansbarger, Katie Sanders, Erin & Dan Twiss; her grandmother, Winifred Roddy; Godparents, Bill & Linda Ruble and their family; an honorary family member, Roland Street; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Christiansen's Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Rev. Jennifer Lien, Jennifer's childhood friend and neighbor and pastor of the Center Street Free Methodist Church in Belding, will officiate and burial will follow at East Montcalm Cemetery.
