Jeffrey William Tozer, age 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday June 20, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. A loving husband, dedicated father, and a man of faith, Jeffrey's life was a testament to his generous spirit, witty intellect, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear.
Born on December 8th, 1952, in Detroit, MI, Jeffrey spent his youth in Fraser, Michigan, and attended Fraser High School before starting college at Michigan State University. While attending, he answered the call to serve his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable return, he completed his academics at Grand Rapids Baptist College (where he providentially met his wife Janice) and Jordan Energy Institute, earning degrees in English and Alternative Energy. He went on to have a long and varied career including nearly 25 years as a Software Engineer at Dematic.
Beyond his professional life, Jeffrey found joy in music, playing both piano and the dulcimer, as well as attending many jazz and folk concerts. He loved to share his culinary talents, often cooking for friends and family and creating memorable gatherings. Additionally, he was a passionate fan of both Michigan Football and Wrexham Soccer.
Jeffrey's love and dedication extended beyond his family and career. He was a longtime member of Grace Immanuel Reformed Baptist Church, where his faith was both nurtured and lived out through service and fellowship. His faith is where he found strength and solace. He lived his life in accordance with the words of 2 Timothy 4:7, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Jeffrey’s quiet strength, endless patience, unwavering faithfulness, and generous heart touched the lives of his friends and family, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Janice (Seltenreich) Tozer, their sons, Jonathan and James Tozer, granddaughter Emma and brothers Michael and Timothy Tozer. He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Tozer, mother, Myrtle (Higdon) Tozer and son, Jordan Tozer.
A service to celebrate Jeffrey's life will be held at Grace Immanuel Reformed Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 27, with a luncheon to follow.
