Jeannette (Hackett) Shapiro-Jones went into the arms of Jesus on April 2, 2018. Jeannette was born the 7th child of Thomas & Georgianna Hackett on October 10, 1968. She will be lovingly remember by her son Chance Jones and her family. Jeannette was a person who loved helping others. She made her career in public service by managing and consulting for housing assistance to the under-served in Wayne County Michigan, she was certified as an Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Manager of Housing Specialist (CMG) with the National Center for Housing Management. She held positions as a Housing Development Assistant and was promoted to Michigan Regional Manager with Wayne County. Jeannette was also the Regional Director for HUD in the Detroit area. She often said she is blessed to have a job to help others in need. Jeannette enjoyed playing bingo, crafting, painting, and recently discovered a love of pottery. Jeannette is survived by her son Chance; siblings, Jenny (Ron) Miller, Randall (Marietta) Hackett, Thomas Hackett, Michael Hackett, Carol Smith, Diane Rork, and Connie (Roy) Richards; and special friend Sharon Barr. Preceded in death are her parents Thomas and Georgianna Hackett; grandparents, Thomas & Merle Hackett and Clinton & Julia Lytle. Jeannette had an everlasting love for her son Chance. She was very proud of the man he had become. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. There will soon be a fund set up to assist in her final arrangements soon.
