Jeanne Nelson

Jeanne J. Nelson, age 67, of Byron Center, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Trillium Woods surrounded by family. The daughter of John & Johnet (Janney) Mayer, she was born January 26, 1949 in Chicago, IL. For the last 15 years Jeanne worked as a social worker for the Allegan Co. Sheriffs Department. Jeanne was an artist to say the least, she made books, floral designs, and crafted often. She had a love for shoes and was an avid reader. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her son, John (Connie) Nelson; daughter, Sara (Garrett) Huff; grandchildren, Nathan Ellison and Fiance Brianne St.John, Amanda (Justin) Spaans, Kaitlyn Huff and Brooklynn Huff; sister, Janney (Jeffrey) Simpson; nephews, Marcus Simpson and Matthew Simpson; loving companion her dog, Lacey; along with many special friends. Memorial services will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Sierrafilds Condominium Club House, Sierrafield Dr & 76th St SW, Byron Center. The family will also be having another celebration of life in Gaylord at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Riverbanks Pet Resort.
