Jeanette Leik

Jeanette Marie Leik, age 78, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020. She was born on July 17, 1941, in Portland, MI, to the late Jerry A. & Hilda A. (Pung) Leik. Jeanette graduated from Aquinas College and later earned her Masters Degree in Education from Michigan State University. She taught in Germany and worked most of her career as a reading specialist for the Grand Rapids Public Schools. Jeanette enjoyed reading, Bible study with her friends, board games and taking her nieces and nephews on vacations. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Parish. Survivors include her three siblings, Brother James Leik, Russell Leik and Daniel (Sally) Leik; grandsons, Kaden, Mason and Jeremiah Woods; sister-in-law, Imogene Leik; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Leik; brother, David Leik; sister-in-law, Roxanne Leik; and two nephews, Danny David and Denny Leik. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at St. Alphonsus Parish, 224 Carrier St NE, Grand Rapids.
