Jean Ann Tallman, 88, of Greenville, formerly of Cedar Springs, passed away early Saturday morning, August 24, 2024 at New Haven Assisted Living in Cedar Springs. She passed away peacefully with family at her side. The daughter of Samuel & Florence (Balzinski) Tallman, she was born on September 13, 1935 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was a 1953 graduate of Cedar Springs High School. For over 30 years, Jean worked as a cashier with Spartan Stores, at GreatDay in Cedar Springs and later D&W at Knapp's Corner. She enjoyed planting and caring for flowers and aways had the flower beds that were the envy of the neighborhood. She enjoyed caring for and watching her grandchildren any chance she had. Jean was an immaculate housekeeper whom according to her son, "Caught dust specks in the air before they had the audacity to fall on her furniture" She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Alice Andrakowicz, her son Michael Durst, her great grandson Deyani Torres and great granddaughter Janae Joy Wong. Surviving are her son & daughter in-law Raymond & Jalaine Huckleberry of Greenville, her son & daughter in-law Doug and Cheri Durst of McDonald, Tennessee, her daughter Debbie Durst of Cedar Springs. Eleven grandchildren Heather Henning, Stephanie Torres, Michael Paskewicz, Brooke Wong, Michael Huckleberry, Korbin Lowther, John Huckleberry, Sam Huckleberry, Keygin Santiago, Mia Jeffery, and Rylan Huckleberry. Six great-grandchildren, Tristan Whidden, Arryanna Torres, Violet Rodrigues, Allison Henning, Ashley Henning, and Sammy Wong. Sister Mary Smith. And many nieces and nephews. A memorial and committal Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens, 5151 8th Ave, Grandville, Michigan 49418.
