Jean Frances Madill, age 79, of Lowell, MI, passed away peacefully at her home on January 20, 2021 surrounded by her three daughters. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Madill, twin brother John Furman, mother Alma Furman (Bliss), and father Francis "Twig" Furman. Jean is survived by her daughters Leslie Madill of Ypsilanti, MI, Jamie Madill of Traverse City, MI, and Candace (Terry) Hedger of Grand Rapids, MI. She will be dearly missed by her beloved grand-daughter Natalie, and nieces and nephews. Jean was born in Big Rapids, MI but grew up in Midland, MI, where she graduated from Midland High School. Soon after, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Western Michigan University. Teaching, mentoring, and nurturing her middle school, high school, and alternative ed program students brought an abundance of joy and meaning to Jean's life. Jean was blessed with a large circle of loving friends whom she deeply cherished. One of her greatest joys in life was being a caring, doting grandma. She held dear every moment she shared with her grand-daughter Natalie.
Due to covid-19 precautions, the family will hold a small burial blessing at a later date. For those wishing to do so, memorial donations may be made in Jean's name to Flat River Outreach Ministries (11535 Fulton St. E., Lowell, MI 49331) - from where she enjoyed volunteering her time.
