Janis Williams Marciniak

March 7, 1954 — May 20, 2020

Janis Kay Williams-Marciniak A.K.A. La-La Born: March 7th, 1954, in Perry, MI To: Wanetta (Williams) Smiley & Gordon (Willie) Williams Died: May 20th, 2020 Formerly of Eaton Rapids, Michigan Sadly, Jan has left us at the age of 66, from the hospital in Big Rapids, Michigan, near where she was living in Remus, Michigan, next door to her beloved Sister Betsy. Jan lived a very difficult life. She was preceded in death by her husband John Francis Marciniak, on January 16th, 1981, at which time began her true journey in life, raising three children without a father. During her struggles, she ended up breaking her back, and becoming disabled herself, while all three kids were still in high school, only adding to her burdens. She also took on the task of raising her oldest grandson. She overcame those hurdles, the best way she could. She always had an avid love for nature and wildlife, and definitely loved her road trips, going on adventures across the state of Michigan or traveling the great country we live in with Grandpa Willie, trying to reach his goal of every state. She was a licensed LPN in her career days, but as stated earlier, that was short lived. She worked as caring for children with Autism for a long time, and got a lot of satisfaction from helping others, who could not care for themselves. She had a deep sense of compassion for people who were disabled, or struggling themselves, and often would go without to help someone else. Despite all of these struggles, she was quite the handy woman, being gifted with the brilliance of her parents, she was very mechanically inclined, and would do what she could to share that wisdom, if you so chose to enquire. She had a raw talent for making things work with what she had, and adding her special touch to everything, that just made it appreciable, it was her touch. Jan had a deep affection for life. She used to always keep pets, whether they were a dog or a cat, fish, shrimp or raccoons... She loved all of them with the same affection she had for people. Loving and caring. She endured a lot of pain through her struggles though. Her back surgeries didn't ever help her back, only created more restrictions, and pain. Other areas of her body experienced issues as well, in which caused more pain, and grief. Her battle with C.O.P.D finally got the best of her and ultimately ended her struggles. She has moved on to a pain free existence Her struggle is over May She Rest In Peace Jan leaves behind, her Mother, two Sisters, & her three children: Wanetta Smiley, of East Lansing (Mother) Vickie (Ken) Simons (Sister) Debbie Bueche (Sister) Chris (Laura) Marciniak, of Lansing, MI Kevin Marciniak, of Alma, MI & Katrina (Marciniak) Powis, Formerly of Eaton Rapids, MI Jan also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Jason Marciniak, Kourtney White, Alese Marciniak, Kelsey Mohler, Madison White, Nick Marciniak, Will Marciniak, & Ekho Marciniak Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
