Janie S. Routson, age 72, of Belding, Michigan, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at home under the loving care of her family and Gentiva Hospice.The daughter of Glen Ira & Beverly Jane (Boroff) Rosenberger, she was born on July 30, 1954 in Flint, Michigan. On July 17, 1972, in Owosso, Michigan, she married Edwin LeRoy Routson and together they enjoyed over fifty-four years of marriage.

Janie was a graduate of Owosso High School, and retired from Snyder’ IGA as a Scanning Manager. She worked there for 25 years then became a retired house wife as her husband severed in ministry. She enjoyed crafts, especially at Christmas-time. She’d make trees and snowmen, wreaths and other assorted treasures. She loved to have a Christmas Tree in the house because it reminded her of the beauty of Christ. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Glen Ira & Beverly Jane (Boroff) Rosenberger; a brother, Floyd Daniel Rosenberger; her second born, Jeremy Guy passed at the age of 45; and a grandson, Dakota Joseph Duncan Scott, who died shortly after birth. She then lost a son-in-law, Kirk Gregory Gildner, who passed last March.

Janie is survived by her husband, Edwin LeRoy Routson of Belding; two children, Stacey Renee (Routson) Gildner of Belding, and Benjamin Corey Routson (Blair) of Rockford; three grandsons, Ryan Gildner, Brandon Gildner, and Gavin Gildner; two granddaughters, Alleigh Michalek, and Chloe Routson; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Ann Spencer (Bill), Yvonne Marie Anderson (Andy), Kathrine Mae Barrett, and Salley Lynn Piper (Greg); three brothers, David Lee Rosenberger, Robert Bruce Rosenberger, and Glen J. Rosenberger (Laurie); plus thirty-two nieces and nephews. 

Visitation is from 11-1 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2026 on at Encounter Community Church, 1213 W. State Street, Belding, where memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday. A time of food and fellowship will follow the services.
