Janice Wuis

On Saturday, October 5th, 2024 Janice Wuis (61) peacefully passed away with her husband Carl by her side at Borgess Medical in Kalamazoo. Janice was born October 4th, 1963 in Allegan, Michigan. She attended Martin and Wayland High school. Janice had worked at a few jobs including Recco, Weick's, and Phillips 66. While she was her "party girl days", Janice met the love of her life Carl Wuis. They decided to settle down, got married September 26th,1983, and three well loved children. Janice may have not been a career woman but she was passionate about her kids, grandkids, family and friends. It was typical to her in the kitchen whipping up FANTASTIC dishes. Canning, baking and making desserts were her favorite things to do for her family. Janice was also an avid collector of coins, comic books, baseball cards and Savory roasters. Janice will always be remembered by husband of 41 years Carl Wuis; sisters, Trudy Martin and Connie Shattuck Rose; parents Dorothy (Richard) Shattuck; son, Richard (Misty) Wuis; daughters, Jessica (John) Young and Erica Wuis (John Horton). Janice's presence will be felt by her grandkids, Mikielah, Zyren, Akiela, Kano, Kadence, Kourtney, Jarrett, Katie, and Abby. Aunt Jan will forever be in the hearts of her nieces and nephews, Rick, Randy, Heather, Brandon, Brian, Garry and Erick; as well as siblings-in-law, Gary VonMyhr, Joe Wuis, Rick Welch, Gail Whitmore, Joyce Welch, and Lois Wuis. Janice was welcomed to heaven by her sisters, Dawn Vandermeer and Arlene VonMyhr. A celebration of life will take place from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Martin United Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan Street, Martin, Michigan.
