We gather here today to celebrate the life of Janice Lane, a humble soul who exemplified love, loyalty, and resilience in every aspect of her life. Janice was born on September 28, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and it is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge her passing on November 21, 2024. Janice was a fixture in her community, her spirit firmly woven into the fabric of Grand Rapids, where she resided for over five decades.
Janice dedicated her working years as a Laundry Aid in a local nursing home until her retirement in 2012. She was a woman who found joy in simplicity, cherishing the small pleasures life offered. A lover of good meals, engaging games, and the gentle purr of her beloved cats, Janice was also blessed with a witty sense of humor that she would sprinkle into situations to lighten the mood. Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting, and as time passed and her hands grew tired, she found solace in playing hidden games on her tablet, Mahjong, and every bingo slot available. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others," and Janice embodied this philosophy through her undying loyalty and love for her family, especially her daughter, Michelle Lane.
Janice was a woman of resilience, a quality that was woven into her very core. She faced the challenges of life head-on, never losing her spirit or her ability to love. Her parents, Arnold and Carrie Wilton, preceded her in death, leaving Janice with a legacy of strength and the capacity to love unconditionally that she carried forward.
With Janice's transition, our world has lost a humble, loving, loyal and resilient woman, but her spirit lives on in us. As we remember Janice, we invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. As we collectively remember our dear Janice, we find comfort and connection in our shared experiences, and we keep her memory alive.
