Janice Lynn Hauff, age 75, of Gowen, passed away Wednesday evening at Spectrum Health-United Hospital in Greenville. The daughter of Louis & Beryl (Snider) Peer, she was born on October 25, 1937 in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School. On November 18, 1961, in Alpena, she married Martin D. Hauff and together they enjoyed 51 years of marriage.
A devoted wife and mother, she also enjoyed mushrooming, ceramics, knitting, needlework, and handicrafts and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George Peer and Donald Peer; and a daughter, Terri Tillen. Surviving are her husband, Martin Hauff of Gowen; her children, Deborah & Dennis Harold of Republic, Jerry & Kimberly Burns of Gowen, Greg Hauff of Lowell, and Kimberly & James Melson of Cedar Springs; a son-in-law, Bob Tillen of Evansville, Indiana; two brothers, Louis & Geneva Peer of Rockford, and Stanley & Lisa Peer of Pensacola, Florida; four siblings-in-law, George & Betty Hauff of Alpena, Robert Hauff of Pontiac, Kenneth & Lori Hauff of Alpena, and Diane Zinsli of Traverse City; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
