Janice Ballard-Sims

Janice Gail Ballard-Sims age 67 of Hopkins, Michigan passed peacefully in her home, her paradise, on September 1st, 2022. Janice was born on March 17th, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Daughter of John and Norma (Cook) Zuidema. Janice always had a smile and laughter that will never be forgotten. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved gardening, playing Yahtzee, watching the Lions, trips to Lake Michigan, music and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Dennis Zuidema; her mother, Norma Zuidema(Cook); Father, John Zuidema; son, Adam John Ballard; and Daughter-in-Law, Shellie Lynn Ballard (Irish). She is survived by her brother, Randy Zuidema; and sister, Gloria Zuidema; her husband, Robert Sims; her son, Dennis Ballard; Daughters, Lisa Carnegie and Holly Gould; and Son-in-Law, Steve Gould; grandchildren, Shaneebree and Jamy Ballard, Hailey Feole and Abbigail Gould, Jayla and Claire Carnegie; as well and 3 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way. Janice's door was always open, and her kindness and love will be written indelibly on anyone who had the honor of knowing her. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 at 3:00pm at her home 3108 132nd Ave. Hopkins, MI 49328.
