Janet Eichler

Janet E. Eichler, age 69, of Lakeview, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 12, 2021, at her home under the loving care of her family and friends following a eight-year battle with multiple myeloma. The daughter of Harold Herman and Florence Marie (Dzur) Hogston, she was born on January 4, 1952, in Muskegon, Michigan. After graduating from Muskegon High School, she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from the Hackley School of Nursing in Muskegon, and spent many years working as a Registered Nurse at Spectrum Health-Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview. She then turned to reflexology, continuing to see clients until just before her death. Janet loved people, books, and Lake Michigan, and was happiest when she could share her gifts of healing and compassion with others in the community. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her son, Kevin Eichler; her sister, Lois Hogston of Edmore; two brothers, Darrell (Lori) Hogston of New Era, and Carl (Kathy) Hogston of North Muskegon; a paternal aunt, Lola Priese of New Era; her best friend of nearly fifty years, Elaine Rossman of Lakeview; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; as well as many dear friends and colleagues. Honoring Janet's wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date and burial will take place privately at Benona Township Cemetery near Shelby. Instead of flowers, Janet would have appreciated contributions in her memory to any organization that lifts up those who are in need of a helping hand.
