On April 6, 2026, Jane Lee Golin (née Kimbrell) was surrounded by family as she peacefully passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior. Jane was preceded in death by her mother, who passed away when Jane was a young child, and by her father, who passed away during Jane’s early adulthood.
Born in Philadelphia on April 23, 1940, Jane was a constant joy in her father’s life and remained close with her brother and only sibling, James. After surrendering her life to Christ as a young adult, one of Jane’s favorite biblical passages was Jeremiah 29:11-13: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.” (NKJV)
In December 1961, Jane met Lawrence “Larry” Golin. Their growing love for each other and their shared calling to East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) led to their wedding on August 25, 1962. Jane and Larry were used by God to bring physical and spiritual healing to individuals across the United States and multiple countries in Asia and Africa. They served together for decades at Malumghat Hospital in southern Bangladesh.
Jane was the proud and beloved mother to six children: Daniel (Nancy) Golin, Timothy (Jeana) Golin, Michael (Jackie Marion) Golin, Melissa (Brent) Langley, Nathan (Courtney) Golin, and Rachel (Zachariah Hicks) Golin. She always welcomed receiving a visit or phone call from family and she is lovingly remembered by all, including her 12 grandchildren (Zachary [Heather] Golin, Jacob [Ashley] Golin, Joya Luke, Noella [Ted Edwards] Golin, Ethan Golin, Lydia Golin, Alexander Golin, Andrew Golin, Anthony Golin, Asha [Gabriel Hare] Langley, Matthew [Nicole Borst] Langley, and Sophie Golin), nine great grandchildren (Maci, Emma, Mia, Henry, Oliver, Adalin, Aria, Alaina, and Ruth Jane), sisters-in-law (Lorraine Kimbrell and Renee Repa), nephew (Matthew Repa), daughter-in-love (Katie Golin), and numerous furry, four-legged family members.
Jane drew deep comfort and joy in her professional role as a missionary nurse and in her less formal roles as a cherished, unofficial grandma, mom, aunt(ie), and sister to countless individuals around the world. Jane’s greatest gifts included her listening ear, spirit of encouragement, remarkable generosity, and commitment to prayer. Her steadfast faith in God’s goodness and her thoughtfulness for others echoed throughout the cards she sent, the gifts she gave, and the words she prayed.
Jane’s motherly heart was always open to helping others, especially children. She had the privilege to foster more than 50 children, many with medical needs for which her pediatric nursing expertise and caring personality were well suited. Jane was overjoyed each time an orphan was adopted, and she went to great lengths to help families from the United States, Europe, and the Middle East adopt Bangladeshi children.
True to her humble and giving spirit, Jane took great delight when others were helped through charitable donations and acts of kindness. Abounding in Love (https://www.aboundinginlove.org/) is a ministry that was especially meaningful to Jane. For many consecutive years, a frequent Christmas gift to her adult children was acknowledging each of them through a donation to help Filipino children receive medical and surgical care.
Jane is remembered by family, friends, and colleagues for warmly accepting others and personifying God’s unconditional love.
In honor of Jane’s wishes, a small celebration of life service will be held later this year.
