James Tellam

Jim Tellam was born January 19, 1934, and died at age 87 on April 15, 2021. He left this earth peacefully while at home and went to be with Jesus for all eternity. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Florence Tellam; his brother, Arthur Tellam and his son, James D. Tellam. He is survived by his wife, Fay; his son, Mark Tellam and wife Suzanne; his daughter, Loren Maloney and husband Patrick. Grandchildren are Megan (Maloney) Neal and husband Derek, Ryan Maloney, Leza Tellam and Erika Danielle. Jim was born in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Civil Engineering. His first job after high school was at a testing laboratory. He spent several years at the Peerless Cement Company and finished his life's work as majority owner and president of Grand Rapids Testing Service. Jim loved family and friends, engineering, singing in the church choir, golfing, life on the lake, birds, Arizona in the winter and walking the dogs. He served the Lord in several churches and was a current member of Thornapple Community Church. Jim is a child of God. Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior. He thanked God every day for life and for his many blessings. A celebration of Jim's life will be held on May 8, 2021, at Thornapple Community Church at 11:00 AM with a time for greeting at 10:00.
