James Tate

James Harville Tate, age 79, of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2011 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Battle Creek. The son of Evans & Ruth (Sims) Tate, he was born on July 15, 1932 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. A proud veteran of the Korean War, James served with the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Corporal. After the war, he had worked for General Motors-Delco. Surviving are two brothers, Harold W. Tate, and Earl E. Tate; and a sister, Myrna R. Tate. Committal services, with full military honors rendered by the U.S. Army, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
