Graveside Committal: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at Saranac Cemetery
Mr. James Edward Jim Reidt, age 67, of Ionia, formerly of the Greenville and Belding area, passed away Sunday evening, May 28, 2006 at the V.A. Medical Center, Ann Arbor. The son of George & Rose (Brower) Reidt, he was born on Nov. 19, 1938 in Belmont. Jim was a graduate of Saranac High School and was a proud veteran of Vietnam Conflict, having served with the U.S. Army in both Vietnam and Korea. He retired from the Amway Corporation where he worked in the shipping and receiving department. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward Lee Reidt of Austin, Texas, and Mike & Shelly Reidt of Greenville; three granddaughters, Olivia Reidt and Rachael Reidt, both of Greenville, and Vashti Reidt of Austin, Texas; a grandson, Elijah Reidt, also of Austin, Texas; a sister and two brothers, Ruth & Larry Seiler, Joseph & Dorothy Reidt, and Ray & Lynn Reidt, all of Saranac; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Memorial services were held7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Oakwood Christian Reformed Church (located on Highway M-91 between Greenville and Belding) with Pastor Coleman Moore officiating. Visitation with the family was held one hour prior to the ceremony.Instead of flowers, Jim would have appreciated memorial contributions to Oakwood Christian Reformed Church.
