James Edward Gross, age 65, of Orleans, Michigan, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Corewell Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The son of Jerome John & Phyllis Ann (Umlor) Gross, he was born on June 17, 1959 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, graduated from Belding High School, and was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Jim worked at the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville until the plant closed and had been a member of UAW Local No. 137. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a member of the Olson-Kiste Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4406 in Belding and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Greenville Aerie No. 4321.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Gross; a sister, Cynthia “Cindy” Gross; and a niece, Connie Clark.
Surviving are his father, Jerome J. Gross of Stanton; two sons, James Earl Gross of Stanton, and Casey Allen Gross of Orleans; two brothers, Dennis Gross, and Jeffrey & Diane Gross; a sister, Gerianne & Tony Clark; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate Jim’s life from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Olson-Kister VFW Post No. 4406, 148 N. Bridge Street, Belding.
