James Leon Ellsworth, age 75, of Cedar Springs, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at Spectrum Health-United Hospital Rehab & Nursing Center in Greenville. The son of Miles W. & Theda Winifred (Mead) Ellsworth, he was born on March 2, 1939 in Stanton.
James married the former Mariann Kroes and together they had three children. He had worked at Wolverine Scrap Metal Corporation in Grand Rapids and was a member of the Lakeview Seventh-Day Adventist Church. In death, he gave the gift of sight by being a cornea donor to the Michigan Eye Bank.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Dean; a sister-in-law, Vicki Ellsworth; and a brother-in-law, Lyle Hosford.
Surviving are his children, Loralee & Scott Dehnert of Stanton, Melissa & Dean Kline of Belding, and Mark & Julie Ellsworth of Sidney; a brother, Raymond W. Ellsworth of Greenville; two sisters, Evelyn & Fred Carter, and Ruth Ann Hosford of Cedar Springs. He will also be missed by his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside committal services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on September 21, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery in Langston. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.
