James Breen

James Carl Breen, 69, passed away Tuesday morning, March 26, 2019 at Metro Health: University of Michigan Hospital. The son of Robert & Janet (Ledtke) Breen, he was born June 25, 1949 in Highland Park. Jim was a proud veteran of the United States Navy who served during the Vietnam era, decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. James started his career with an entrepreneurial spirit, opening the first Burger King in the state of Michigan, in the Detroit area. He later became a salesman; first for Heinz, and later on for Grand Oldsmobile. In his later years, he returned back to his roots and opened the Jimmy B's Deli in Grandville with his wife. Jim had a passion for "Lake life" and loved to be out on the water with his friends and family. He had a deep rooted passion for the Detroit Tigers and his favorite pastime, golf. Jim will be remembered for his everlasting smile and his ability to make everyone laugh with his jokes. James is survived and deeply missed by his wife "Love you more" Cindy; sister, Cindi & Rick Ervin; children, Jarret, Nicole, Jeff & Kitty, Herm & Tanya, and Dennis & Lisa; grandchildren, Avery, Hunter, Grace, Nicholas, Mathieu, Cooper, Weston, and Max; many sister & brother in-laws; along with many other family and friends.
