James Albert Bay, 68, lost his battle with cancer and heart disease on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Allegan County Medical Care Facility. The eldest of seven children to Albert and Muriel Doris (Warner) Bay, James was born December 30, 1949 in Somerville, New Jersey. Somerville, New Jersey New Jersey He joined the Navy in 1969 and exited in 1973. James was stationed at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island, where he was a Marine Mechanic. He then relocated to Allegan for the remainder of his life serving as a Sheriff's Deputy for Allegan until his retirement. James enjoyed collecting guns, perfecting his aim, and lake fishing. He was preceded in death his father Albert Bay; brothers, John Bay and Skip Bay. Surviving are his mother, Muriel Doris; his children, Zechariah & wife Suzann Bay, Anna & husband Aaron Smith, and Nickolas Bay; grandchildren, Jason Smith and Alexander Bay; sister, Sueann Bay; brothers, Richard Bay, Warner Bay, and David Bay; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
