James P. Barnes

James Patrick Barnes, age 76, of Greenville, passed away early Friday morning, November 22, 2024 at Rest Assured Assisted Living in Gowen. The son of Robert & Elizabeth Ann (Soss) Barnes, he was born on March 29, 1948 in Greenville, Michigan. Jim lived to be on a golf course, if you didn’t find him with a golf club in his hand, you could find him watching Michigan Football. He was a proud father to one son, Lance, and a proud papa to his grandson Liam. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Jim worked as a union electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 275 for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Barnes, Jr. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Lance & Carlee Barnes; a grandson, Liam Barnes; a sister, Shirley Dreger; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful "puppy', Copper. Honoring Jim's wishes, cremation will take place and no services are planned.
