JACK WARREN VANSTRIEN FEBRUARY 2, 1952--MAY 11, 2023 (GRAND RAPIDS) Jack Warren Van Strien, age 71, beloved dad, grandpa, fiance, brother and friend, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 11 2023. He is survived by his children, Jada Van Strien and Amber Oliver; his grandchildren Ira and Ella Oliver; his son-in-law Joshua Oliver and his fiance, Jodi Hoogerhyde. Jack is also survived by his brothers, Terry and James Van Strien. Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Van Strien and his father James Van Strien. Jack was kind, open-minded and cared for the downtrodden. He had a genuine loving heart and was a great listener. He was authentic and did not hesitate to speak his Truth. He loved to laugh and joke around and had a uniquely fun sense of humor. He enjoyed walking, biking, camping and kayaking as well as playing the game Pegs and Jokers aka "Cutthroat" with friends. He liked shuffleboard, pool and dancing at Amvets and American Legions. He attended Godwin Heights High School and the Church of Jack. He was the successful owner/operator of VanStrien Seamless Aluminum Gutters for almost 35 years. He is in the Light now and at peace. His family and friends will cherish all the memories with him. His legacy will shine on through his daughters. The family of Jack VanStrien will hold a Celebration of Life on Thursday, June 29 from 6-8:30pm at Grant Pavillion in Secchia Meadows at Millenium Park.
