In Loving Memory of
Jack Anthony Kutchins
"Tarpon Jack"
Jack Anthony Kutchins, born February 2, 1935, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022, at the age of 87. Jack was known to all as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend.
An avid fisherman, Jack spent his life on the water becoming one of the best freshwater and saltwater anglers of his time, both in fly casting and spin casting. Jack was the retired Fire Marshal for the City of Grand Rapids, and he was the recipient of the Firefighter of the Year award for the Grand Rapids Fire Department.
Jack was the beloved husband of Brigitte, who preceded him in death, and a proud father to Debbie, Steve (Julie), and Karen (Markus). He was the cherished grandpa of Dakota, Kirbi, Zack, Ella, Chloe, and Isaac, and loving brother to Joyce. Jack also had many friends that he enjoyed spending time with, sharing stories and a love of fishing.
Jack will be remembered for his kindness and charisma, devotion to his family, his tenacity in everything he did, and his ability to bring love and joy into the lives of others.
A memorial service is planned for this summer for family and friends to come together to celebrate Jack's life.
