Jack Harvey Krieger

1944–2026

Jack Harvey Krieger, 82, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and care staff at the VA Palliative Care Unit in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Jack proudly served in the United States Army, including an overseas assignment in Okinawa.

Jack’s love of the outdoors and his spirit of service led him to volunteer with the Coast Guard Auxiliary where he proudly served as a member and later became Flotilla Commander over Flotilla 33-10 St. Joseph Michigan. His adventurous spirit continued throughout his life. In his later years, Jack earned his small aircraft pilot’s license, fulfilling another lifelong passion for exploration and the freedom of the skies.

Above all, Jack was a proud Pappy. He took great joy in teaching his grandson, Michael, the many skills and lessons of life. One tradition that Michael has carried on is raising and growing blackberries. You could often find the two of them in the backyard, checking on their small blackberry patch and tending to the other garden plants. These simple moments became treasured memories that will live on.

Jack spent most of his career working in the wholesale industry before eventually opening his own small business with his wife, Regenna, known as Jar-Fish. He took great pride in building a life and a business alongside the woman he loved.

Some of Jack’s happiest memories were made traveling “up north” with his family. With Jack, you never knew where an adventure might lead. One especially fond memory was when he decided to show his wife and daughter a great little town called Cross Village. For anyone who has been there, “little” may be an understatement. It became an ongoing family joke that they drove for hours just to see a restaurant and a gas station. Jack would probably have told you it was absolutely worth the trip.

Jack cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and treasured his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Regenna; his daughter, Amanda (Chris); and his grandson, Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Donna Krieger; his brother, Roy Krieger; his sister, Gail Daniels; his first wife, Patricia Krieger; and his son, Jonathan Krieger.

Jack will be remembered for his unforgettable smile, contagious laughter, quick wit, and unmistakable jokester personality. He had a way of bringing laughter and adventure into the lives of those around him. Above all, he will be remembered for the deep and abiding love he had for his family.

His laughter, his stories, his sense of adventure, and the countless memories he created with those he loved will remain in their hearts forever. Though he is deeply missed, Jack’s love and the lessons he shared will continue through the family he cherished so dearly.

A Private Service will be held in his honor, no public services are currently planned.
