Irmgard "Irmie" Natalie Roggow, age 87, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Hemlock and Drummond Island, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Samaritas Senior Living Grand Rapids surrounded by family. The daughter of Rev. John & Frieda (Kraft) Gauss, she was born on January 27, 1930 in Findlay, Ohio.
Irmie graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in 1948. She was the past President of the Michigan Chapter of the Valparaiso University Guild. Later in life she enjoyed planning and leading tours to Europe.
She was Preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Barbara; and five half sisters. Irmgard is survived by her husband of 68 years, Carl; children, John (Cheryl) Roggow, Mark (Sandi) Roggow, and Sarah (Dean) Crispin; brother, John (Mary Alice) Gauss; sister, Gerda (Aldred) Heyer; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, 17927 Dice Rd., Hemlock, where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, with Pastor Paul Hauser officiating.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Michigan Lutheran Seminary or Drummond Island Lutheran Church.
