Iris Cole

Iris Koleen Cole, age 57, of Harrison, Michigan, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. The daughter of Jack Melvin & Ivy Margaret (Melow) Hootman, she was born on May 7, 1966 in Detroit, Michigan. For 21 years Iris worked at Medilodge of Clare as a certified nurse’s aide and enjoyed shopping, camping, visiting the Great Lakes, cooking on the grill and loved trying out new recipes, playing her Harry Potter game. She loved her cats, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, John Hootman. Surviving are her life partner, Elvis Herron of Harrison; her four children, Daniel Cole & Nicole Florio of South Lyon, Jaclyn & Bradley Schiffeneder of West Bloomfield, April Herron, and Emily Herron of Harrison; her seven grandchildren, Christian Cole, Carmen Cole, Thomas Windom, Payton Cole, Adrik Schiffeneder, Brayleigh Schiffeneder and Lux Schiffeneder; her brothers and sisters, Michael & Karen Hootman of Brighton, Lloyd & Madeleine Hootman of Willis, Lisa Goodroe of Novi, Frederick & Karine Hootman of Dearborn Heights, Jack Jr. & Kelly Hootman of Westland, Cheryl Grimwood of Blanchard, Ivy Kay & Scott Michael of DeWitt, and Brad Hootman of Ann Arbor; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Iris’ life from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at the Clare Moose Lodge, 1890 E. Ludington Drive, Clare, Michigan.
