Irene Ann (Wightman) Heath, age 93, of Hastings, Michigan passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday, November 2, 2023. She was born June 19, 1930, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late William and Marjorie (O’Brien) Wightman. Irene graduated from Nashville High School with the class of 1948.
She enjoyed reading, canning jams and jellies, listening to country music, watching old cowboy movies, especially John Wayne, and her dogs, Maggie and Tipper. Irene was a member of the Hastings Friends of the Library, the Thunder Floor Cloggers, and the Hastings Dog Park and Welcome Wagon. She was a volunteer of the Kent Riding Club, Hands Across America, Texas Elementary Schools, and Docent at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute.
Survivors include her sons, Newell, Theodore “Ted” (Diana), and Charles (Patti) Heath; grandchildren, Newell, Nick, Hillaire (Joseph), Noelle, Kelsey, and Travis; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty; brother, Bill (Lili); and loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley Heath; grandchildren, Tara, Nolan, and TJ; great-grandson, Fischer; sister, June (Jack); and brother, Russ.
Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Nashville, Michigan, at a later date.
