Hugh Moser

Mr. Hugh Jefferson Moser, 83, of Parchment, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. The son of the Rev. Dr. Walter L. & Ilse (Poehlmann) Moser, he was born on June 6, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Moser was a graduate of Grove City (PA.) College and Carnegie Mellon University, and a four-year veteran of World War II. In 1950 he was united in marriage with the former Ruth Merwin, who survives. He retired in 1990 as art director in the International Advertising Division of The Upjohn Company. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are their children, Barbara Oldroyd, Gaithersburg, MD, Hugh J., Jr. (Patricia), South Bend, IN, and David (Svetlana), Washington, DC, and grandchildren, Rachel and Courtney Moser; brothers John H. Moser, Walter L.Moser, Jr., and Frank D. Moser. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church, 321 W. South Street, Kalamazoo. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo or Rose Arbor Hospice of Southwestern Michigan.
