Howard Musser, Jr., age 84, of Greenville, passed away Friday morning, May 4, 2018 at Twin Oaks Country Living in Gowen, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family and under the care of Great Lakes Caring & Hospice. The son of Howard A. & Agnes (Welch) Musser, he was born on March 28, 1934, in Gowen, and was a decorated veteran of the Korean War, proudly serving with the United States Army. Howard earned the Combat Infantry Badge and was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon with one Bronze Battle Star, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He retired from the former Electrolux Home Products in Greenville and enjoyed watching baseball and football. Howard completed courses at the Moody Bible Institute, and was an ordained lay minister. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his love and compassion for everybody. Surviving are his sons, John H. & Teresa Musser of Blue Eye, Missouri, and Howard F. Musser; four grandchildren, Jonathon & Sophie Musser, Matthew & Lindsey Musser, Mark Musser, and Rebecca & Joshua Howard; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Penny Berens of Holland; and several nieces, nephews and well loved friends from all over Greenville. Visitation is on Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Howard's son, Rev. Dr. John H. Musser and his grandson, Rev. Jonathon D. Musser, will officiate and committal services, with military honors, will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta.
