Mrs. Hildergarde Edna Moore, age 83, of Middletown, Ohio, went to be with our Lord early Friday morning, Oct. 7, 2005 from Metron of Greenville after a brief illness. The daughter of Milton & Emma (Basinet) Philbrook, she was born on July 5, 1922 in Whitensville, Massachusetts.
A veteran of World War II, Hildegarde proudly served her country in the U.S. Armed Forces and was a devoted wife and mother. A favorite prayer of Mrs. Moores was: Lord, let me capture the pure spirit of a child when I speak Your name. Let me pray as a child prays, asking little for myself, much for other souls, and for Your beautiful world. Protect me, sleeping and waking, from evil. Lead me by the hand to good works. Let me praise You in simple words and in glorious silence through all the days and nights of my life. Amen.
Surviving are a daughter, Terry A. Lee of Greenville; a son, John P. Moore of Middletown, Ohio; and several grandchildren.
Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at the Monroe Church of God, 100 East Avenue, Monroe, Ohio, with Pastor Billy T. Ball officiating. The Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, was entrusted with the arrangements.
