Henrietta Everson

November 21, 1929 — December 23, 2024

Henrietta May (Crump) Everson, age 95, of Plainwell, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024. She was born in Kiona, Washington, on November 21, 1929, to the late William Henry Crump and Alma Muriel Bremmer. Henrietta graduated from Moxie High School with the class of 1948. She went on to study at Western Washington College of Education and worked as a schoolteacher for many years while raising her three children. Henrietta was kind and strong. Her childhood was difficult living through the Great Depression, but she had an eternally positive outlook on life. She was raised as a Jehovah Witness and was kicked out of Public Elementary school for not saying the Pledge of Allegiance. She converted to Catholicism as a young adult. Her youngest son was paralyzed from the neck down at 21 and Henrietta became his fulltime caregiver until his death in the late 90’s. Henrietta never complained and lived her life in happiness. After converting to Catholicism, she celebrated each birthday with abandon. She prided herself on living longer than any other family member. Her goal was to live to be 100 years old and she very nearly did. Survivors include her granddaughter, Annabelle Star (Everson) Borden and great-granddaughter Emma Corrine Borden. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ardith Davidson; and two sons, Bill and Cass Everson. Per Henrietta’s wishes cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held at this time. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Life Care Center of Plainwell for their care of Henrietta the past couple of years.
