Mrs. Helene Wilson, age 70, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, January 11, 2009 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.
The daughter of Donald & Loretta (Weber) Punches, she was born on Dec. 8, 1939 in Grand Rapids. On Aug. 31, 1957, in Grand Rapids, she married Raymond Wilson and together they raised four children.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Helene was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ray I. Booth American Legion Post 101 however she found her greatest joy in time spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Ilene, at birth; her father, Donald Punches; her step-father, Daniel Cumberworth; a brother, Ron Weber; and a brother-in-law, Ron Wilson.
Surviving are her mother, Loretta Cumberworth of Grand Rapids; her loving husband of 52 years, Ray Wilson of Greenville; four adoring children, Cindy & Gary Smith of Belding, Mark Wilson of Grand Rapids, Pam & Al Comstock, and Michelle & Jon Clingerman, all of Greenville; eleven precious grandchildren, Katie & Brian Greene, Dustin & Alison Smith, Mailary Wilson, Mariah Wilson, Morgan Wilson, Kristin Comstock, Sarah Comstock, Alison Comstock, Meagan Bond, Adrienne Bond, and Erin Clingerman; and three special great grandchildren, Nathanael Greene, Charlotte Greene, and Benjamin Greene.
Also surviving are a sister, Patricia & Donald Huffman of Grand Rapids; a brother-in-law, Robert Wilson of Marne; a sister-in-law, Rita Rozelle of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Christiansen Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
The Rev. Jerry Jones, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate and burial will follow privately at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
