It is with profound respect and admiration we remember the life of Helen Kay Taylor, born on April 2, 1940, in Lakeview, Michigan. A woman of tremendous ambition and dedication, Helen lived a life marked by a commitment to her family, her career, and her community.
Helen, or as many fondly knew her, 'the backbone' of Morley Stanwood schools in Morley, Michigan, served as a dedicated bookkeeper for many years before her retirement. As Maya Angelou once said, "My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." This quote could not be more fitting for Helen, as her work ethic was exemplary, and her dedication to her chosen profession was unwavering. Yet, her commitment extended far beyond her professional life; her hobbies, such as crocheting, were a testament to her love for creating things of beauty and utility.
Incredibly supportive and loving, Helen's family was the cornerstone of her life. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live on through her children Jason Taylor, Shelley Stevens, and Michael Taylor. Helen's love also extended to her grandchildren Aubrey, Erica, Brandi Andy, Rebecca Anthony, Adam, Chad, and Lindsey, and great-grandchildren Addison, Riley, Jessie, Treyton, and Ivory, who were the recipients of her infinite love and guidance.
Helen was preceded in death by her loving parents, George and Madlyne Wilkinson, her brother Richard, sister Barbara, and her beloved husband, Carl Taylor. As we honor Helen's memory, we remember her not only for her achievements but for her unwavering spirit and the love she had for those around her.
We encourage those who knew and loved Helen to share their memories and upload photos on her memorial page. These shared memories will serve as a comforting reminder of the unique, loving, and dedicated woman Helen was.
