Helen Lawens

Helen Loretta Lawens, age 86, of Six Lakes, passed away Sunday morning, August 18, 2019 at The Laurels of Carson City. The daughter of Chester & Marvel (Allen) Parmalee, she was born on March 28, 1933 in Seville Township, Gratiot County. After graduating high school, she married Richard F. Lawens on May 24, 1952 in Mount Pleasant and together they raised six children and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Richard Joseph "Rick" Lawens on May 15, 2019. Surviving are her husband, Richard F. Lawens of Six Lakes; a son, Tim & Louann Lawens of Stanton; four daughters; Catherine Sower of Six Lakes, Robin & Larry Taylor of Norton Shores, Rose Simones of Six Lakes, and Lucinda & Dennis Lyles of Rothbury; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Mae and Gladys; and several nieces and nephews.
