Helen Gray

February 17, 1923 — September 3, 2015

Helen Edith Gray, 92, most recently of Georgetown Township, MI, and formerly of Waterford Township, MI, was reunited with her beloved husband, William, on September 3, almost 32 years to the date that he passed on before her. She leaves behind more than 60 years of inspirational guidance and cherished memories for each of her surviving sons -- Michael (spouse of Rose) of Secaucus, NJ, Brian (spouse of Carol) of Jenison, MI, and Richard of Vanderbilt, MI. Mrs. Gray also had the rare privilege of living to see her five grandchildren reach their full maturities and establish themselves as highly-skilled professionals -- Kelly Gray (Vanloan) in New York City, Joanna Beth Carnes (spouse of Mark) in Hailey, ID, Barrett Gray (spouse of Kiel) in Chicago, Kristen Gray and Kevin Doak of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Mrs. Gray had also been blessed to share in the development of two grandchildren, Elizabeth, 15, and Ryan, 11. In addition to Mrs. Gray being a stay-at-home mother and grandmother she later worked for more than 20 years in the Probate Office in Oakland County, Michigan. After her retirement she used her effervescent personality to work as a "greeter" at a Meijer retail store in Jenison for the sole purpose of helping to raise money to build that town's Parkwood Presbyterian Church. A Memorial service will be held October 3rd at 3pm, at the Orchard Lake Community (Presbyterian) Church, 5171 Commerce Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI. Memorial contributions can be made in Mrs. Gray's honor to the Alzheimer Foundation (http://alzfdn.org.). Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Helen Gray, please visit our flower store.
