Miss Hazel Marie Dann, age 81, of Greenville, went home to her Lord and personal Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday afternoon, Nov. 19, 2007 from Spectrum Health United Memorial-United Campus. The daughter of Ivan George & Hilda Sophia (Johnson) Dann, she was born on April 14, 1926 in Mecosta Countys Deerfield Township.
She attended school in Greenville and worked in the laundry department at the former United Memorial Hospital for almost 30 years. A humble and tireless servant of God, Sister Dann served for almost 40 years as treasurer of the Greenville Bible Methodist Church, of which she was a charter member. She was also an avid supporter of missions throughout the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Esther M. Rhoads and Ruth Brandow; and a brother, John Dann. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Heald; two brothers, Charles Dann and Richard Dann; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her church family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville. The Rev. Dennis C. Johnson, pastor of the Greenville Bible Methodist Church, will officiate. A luncheon will follow the service and burial will take place privately in the Dann Family plot at North Ensley Cemetery in Newaygo County. Visitation is Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where envelopes for memorial contributions to the Greenville Bible Methodist Church will be available.
