Harriet Lucille Duncanson, age 95, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, October 16, 2017 at Sunrise of Cascade under the care of Kindred Hospice. The daughter of Russell G. & Ethel Maud (Ketchum) Hibbard, she was born on September 30, 1922 in Howell and worked for several years as an auditor in the accounting department at General Motors. During World War II, Harriett joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and served as a pilot flying essential parts to help in the war effort. Over the years their careers took them to Ann Arbor, East Lansing, Ludington, and Midland. In more recent years, Harriet made her home in Greenville to be closer to family and was an active member of the Greenville Area Senior Center and delighted in playing cards with her friends. An avid gardener, she took great pride in her flowers and landscaping. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene and Marjorie; and a brother, Gail. Surviving are a son, James N. Duncanson of Wyoming, a daughter, Linda & Mike Huckleberry of Greenville; seven grandchildren, Heather, Shane, Sarah, Jamie, Ben, Lindsey, and Jeff; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Toby. Graveside committal services will take place privately at Midland Memorial Gardens, 565 N. Meridian Road, Midland. Instead of flowers, Harriet would have appreciated contributions in her memory to the Greenville Area Senior Center, 715 S. Baldwin Street, Greenville, MI 48838.
