Hadley John Kigar passed away on September 8, 2022, and entered his eternal rest with Jesus Christ with both sons present.
Hadley was born in Gladwin, MI, on October 8, 1936. His life was characterized by compassion and ministry to others through his teaching and counseling. Hadley graduated from Central Michigan University and earned three master's degrees and a PhD from Michigan State University. He was a beloved professor of literature at Kellogg Community College and Cornerstone University.
Hadley was married to Lorraine Kigar (deceased) for 62 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucille Kigar. Surviving him is his sister Sherry (Jerry) Ramsay; his sons Kurt (Jennifer) and Jeff (Katherine); grandchildren Jasper (Haneen), Caleb (Kristie), Micah, Noah, Sarah, Levi, and Hannah; great- grandchildren Advent and Eden; and many nieces and nephews.
Hadley invested fifty-seven years of his life as an adult Sunday School teacher. His life of service and ministry included being a deacon and elder in multiple churches. He assisted hundreds of individuals as a licensed counselor and served with Gideons International.
A memorial celebration will be at Belmont Baptist Church on October 8t, 2022. Family visitation starts at 10 am, with worship service at 11 am. Luncheon to follow.
