Guy Mccurry

With great love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Guy A. McCurry, a funny, loving, talented, and resilient man, who left us on July 24, 2024. Born in Holland, MI, on October 28, 1954, Guy spent most of his life in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he was adored and cherished by all who knew him. Guy was a remarkable man, his wit and humor a beacon of light for his family and friends, and his ability to turn even the most ordinary moment into a joyous event was nothing short of extraordinary. Guy was a gifted electrician, dedicating his life to the automotive manufacturing industry before his well-earned retirement. His talents extended beyond his professional life; he was an innovative man who found tremendous joy in working with his hands. From woodworking to motorcycle maintenance, Guy's ability to create, fix, and enhance was an inspiration to those around him. He was often found in his workshop, a smile on his face, bringing his latest idea to life. His love for long motorcycle trips was second only to his love for his family. The open road brought him peace and solace, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for freedom. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marvel McCurry; dad, Euen McCurry; sister, Bonnie Tiffany; brothers, Ed and Les McCurry; and grandbaby, Michael Worden ll. Guy is survived by his wife, Jessica McCurry; son, Guy McCurry ll; daughter, Rachel (Mike) Worden; grandchildren, Jason McCurry, Damion Lawens, Ceairah Worden and Brayden Worden; and he was blessed with one great grandbaby, Sofia McCurry. Guy's faith was simple; he believed in the protective presence of his guardian angel, a belief that gave him strength and resilience in life. As it is written in Psalms 91:11, "For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways." A graveside service will take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Idlewild Cemetery, 2175 18 Mile Rd, Kent City, MI 49330.
