Gretchen Horonzy

Gretchen Emma Horonzy, age 82, of both Winter Haven, Florida and Mecosta, passed away on March 22, 2021 at home under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice. The daughter of Isaac Daniel & Margaret L. (Kobis) Bedore, she was born on November 7, 1938 in Saginaw. On July 23, 1955 in Saginaw, she married Joseph James Horonzy who passed away on June 20, 2012. Together, they enjoyed nearly fifty-seven years of marriage and raised six children. Gretchen was a 1976 graduate of Buena Vista High School in Saginaw. Gretchen & Joseph enjoyed winters in Winter Haven, Florida, their lake house in Mecosta, baking with her children, and tending to her flower beds, but she most delighted in times spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joseph; her daughter, Marie Horonzy-Keinath; two siblings, Blanche Eurich and William Lamond; and four sons-in-law, John Franceschina, Timothy Ralph, Lee Hardy, and James Rider. Surviving are her children, Margaret Franceschina of Bay City, Joseph (Kim) Horonzy of Saginaw, Christina Ralph of Belding, Melissa Converse of Bay City and Susan Horonzy of Belding; 13 grandchildren, Evan Franceschina, Andrea (Ryan) Lapointe, Ryan Franceschina, Joseph Horonzy, Benjamin Horonzy, Matthew (Katie) Horonzy, Michael (Kelly) Horonzy, Kristopher (Nicole) Keinath, Barbara (TJ) Horonzy, Nicholas Ralph, Melinda Ralph, Jacqueline (Jay) Ingram, and Anthony (Sarah) Hardy; numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Fischer, and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
