Gregory Miller

March 9, 1949 — September 29, 2019

Gregory R. Miller passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Spectrum Health Blodgett, with his family at his side. The son of Earl & Agnes (Coyle) Miller, he was born March 9, 1949 in Jackson. Greg married Bonnie Jean Vroman and together they shared 40 years and raised four children and two grandchildren. Greg had a passion for collecting unique items, from carousal horses to oriental rugs. Throughout his childhood he compiled a plethora of comic books, which he kept for many years. Greg had an unmatched affection for Christmas - he collected small Christmas houses, loved real Christmas trees and treasured the time his family was able to gather during the holiday. He was known for his artistic abilities from playing guitar and singing, sculpting, painting, drawing, landscaping, and interior design. Greg loved to express himself in a variety of ways. He had a way of providing advice to family and those around him that will be sorely missed. Of the many things Greg cherished, family was what mattered most. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Maxie Miller, Diane Light and Judy Hartley. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Chayo & Ryan Gould, Michele Donahue, Eric Miller & Jennifer Cook, and Tyna Hartley; grandsons, Brayden Gould, and Gavin Gould; brother, Skip & Carol Miller; many nieces and nephews, and canine companions, Romeo, and Juliet. Visitation with the family is from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S.E. at 36th Street (one block west of Eastern Avenue) Grand Rapids, with a Celebration of Life following at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. A luncheon will be provided afterwards in the hospitality area. Instead of flowers the family would appreciate contributions in Greg's memory to Disability Advocates of Kent County or Arts in Motion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids.
