Gordon Lee Gordie Kellogg, age 69, of Greenville, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at Spectrum Health-Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. The son of Emery & Dorothy (Carnes) Kellogg, he was born on August 31, 1943 in Crystal. On December 19, 1964, in Crystal, he married Arlene Tower and together they enjoyed 48 years of marriage. Gordie retired from the former Electrolux Home Products after 41 years of service and was a member of U.A.W. Local 137, in addition to working for Thompson Farms during the potato season. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his six-wheel ATV, and morning coffee with his friends at McDonalds. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Penny Kellogg in 1971; and a brother, Lawrence Sam Kellogg. Surviving are his wife, Arlene Kellogg of Greenville; their daughters, Ruth & Chuck Burkett of Lakeland, Florida, and Robin & Dean Barron of Greenfield, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Hope, Alex, Megan, and Jacob; two great-granddaughters, Bethany and McKenzie; a brother, Clarence & Marie Kellogg of Greenville; a sister-in-law, Agnes Brailey of Greenville; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Christiansen Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ken Harger, retired pastor of Shiloh Community Church, will officiate and burial will follow privately at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding.
