View Video Tribute Mr. Gordon M. Dunn, age 82, of Six Lakes, formerly of Grand Ledge, passed away early Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2006 at Spectrum Health-Blodgett Campus, East Grand Rapids. The son of Lloyd R. & Gladys (Kiel) Dunn, he was born on Jan. 16, 1924 in Ionia. A veteran of World War II, Gordon served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific theater. After returning home from the service, on Feb. 15, 1947, in Alpine Township, he married Ruth M. Church. For 33 years, Gordon and Ruth made their home in Grand Ledge, moving to Lake Montcalm after Gordon retired from General Motors Fisher Body plant in Lansing, where he was a proud member of UAW Local No. 602. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Ruth, on Jan. 6, 1997; also by a sister, Ruth Ellen Chapman; and a brother, Gerald Dunn. Surviving are his children, Robert & Sandie Dunn of Grandville, Cynthia & Donald Apple of Sheridan, and Stephanie Gamble of Belmont; six grandchildren, Brian Roth, Brock Roth, Brenda Roth, Melissa & Derek Burgess, Michelle & Todd Kwiatkowski, and Alexandra Gamble; three great grandchildren, Brett and Abigail Roth, and Zachary Burgess; a sister, Marilyn & Carroll Pingel of Eagle; a brother, Richard Dunn of Grand Rapids; siblings-in-law, Orace Chapman and Roberta Dunn, both of Eagle; Carleton Church and Gordon Church, both of Grand Rapids; a special friend, Velma Kebler, and her family, of St. Johns and Grand Ledge; and several nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006 from St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, located just west of Edmore on Highway M-46 (please gather at church), with the Rev. Father Eugene Okoli presiding. Following the Mass, as Gordon requested, cremation will take place with final interment in North Eagle Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville (with a Rosary prayer service beginning at 8 p.m.). Envelopes for memorial contributions to St. Marys Health Care (Renal Unit) or St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church will be available at the funeral home.
