Gordon "Gordy" Stanley Buck, age 82, of Paw Paw, Michigan, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born November 8, 1938, in Scotts, Michigan, to the late H.William and Lillian (Stricklin) Buck.
Gordy was a US Navy Veteran serving in the Korean War aboard The USS Aldebaran. He held many jobs over the years. He was the go-to-guy for handyman needs and car repairs. The one you could count on when you needed a fishing buddy or wanted to play a game of cribbage. You could always find him enjoying old westerns with his favorite potato chips, cheetos, and candies. He was well known for his creative woodworkings, including his favorite retirement hobby of puzzle framing. He was the most stubborn man all the way up to the end, but his humor will be missed most of all. His daughter has promised to carry on these legacies for him, just as he would have wanted.
Survivors include his children, Barbara (Gabino) Villanueva and Benjamin Buck; grandchildren, Jordan Funk, Hailey Funk, and Canei Villanueva; grand-dog, Lucky; great-grand-dog, Rex; and his furry best friend, Lenny.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved pets, pittie Barbie; best buddies, Ghetto & Porkchop; as well as his favorite kitties, Mad Max, Sumi, and Butterscotch.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be held.
Gordon's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rose Arbor Hospice and Hospice of Southwest Michigan, as well as to Bronson Lakeview Hospital staff for all of the care and compassion they have shown him and the family throughout this difficult time.
Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, Grand Rapids, 616-452-3006, exclusive providers of Veterans Funeral Care.
